The IPL works by releasing light of different wavelengths. To put it into an image, imagine the flash when a photo is taken. The treatment is also called flash lamp. This technique allows, among other things, to get rid of unwanted hair. With its broad emission spectrum, IPL penetrates deep into the skin in infrared light (between 780 and 1200 nm) and this makes it a useful treatment for non-ablative skin remodeling and permanent hair removal.
